About Jessie (she/her):
Jessie grew up in Houston, Texas, as a passionate, tenacious, and outspoken child with ADHD who often felt misunderstood and didn’t always fit the expectations around her. These experiences influenced her family’s daily life and inspired her to build a career focused on supporting, validating, and celebrating the unique needs of kids and teens. Jessie earned her degree in Psychology at the University of Arkansas and returned to Texas to complete her master’s in Counseling at St. Edward’s University in Austin. Her internship with adolescents in crisis equipped her with the skills and commitment she brings to her work today. Outside of her career, Jessie finds joy in creativity and self-expression, whether it’s uncovering unique vintage finds, styling her space, crafting, or diving into lively conversations about her favorite shows and interests.
Beliefs about our work together in therapy:
Every child deserves to feel brave, capable, and valued for who they are. Jessie’s work is rooted in embracing each child’s individuality and creating a safe space where they can explore their emotions and experiences without judgment. Jessie also embraces a neurodiversity-affirming perspective, helping kids and teens see their differences not as obstacles but as beautiful and essential parts of who they are. Play and creative exploration are not just activities; they’re powerful tools that allow kids to process emotions and make sense of their world in ways words sometimes cannot. Through play, creativity, and connection, Jessie guides children toward understanding and regulating their big emotions in a way that feels empowering. She incorporates a balance of creative and expressive yet directive approaches for older children and teens, empowering them to develop self-compassion and confidence. At the heart of her work is a commitment to helping kids embrace their unique strengths and believe in their ability to grow, adapt, overcome challenges, and thrive.
